DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, September 15\, 2015\, the Glen Ellyn Woman`s Club begins a year long celebration of 120 years as a active\, progressive\, and philanthropic organization in Glen Ellyn.\n\n\n\nAt 1:00 PM\, in the Glen Ellyn History Center\, the Woman`s Club invites members and guests to a special Annette Baldwin program\, `Remembering Jane Addams`\n\n\n\nBecause of all the successes the Woman`s Club has achieved through their years in Glen Ellyn\, Jane Addams is a perfect subject for Baldwin`s dramatic portrayal. Addams was among the first generation of college educated women in America and was admired and respected for her stand that inequities of human life must be brought to balance. Her greatest achievement was the establishment of Chicago`s Hull House\, organized to alleviate poverty and cultural deprivation.\n\n\n\nGuests are welcome to attend this special performance. League of Women Voters\, Glen Ellyn Wheaton Community Associates of the Art Institute of Chicago\, and the Reliquarians are all invited to attend. Glen Ellyn residents are invited to see and hear all about the woman who earned the Nobel Peace Prize. \n\n\n\nThere is no charge for this event.\n\n\n\nCall 630-469-4516 to make a reservation.
