Main Street and the time is 2:00 PM.\n\n\n\nArchitectural enthusiast and founder of Sears Homes of Chicagoland\, sears-homes.com\,  Lara Solonickne  leads her audience through the story of the Sears Homes.\n\n\n\nFrom 1908 to 1942\, Sears Roebuck and Company sold about 65\,000 ready-to-build kit homes through catalogs. Despite the rash of tear-downs in the Chicago area\, some of these houses have managed to survive.  These homes are undiscovered treasures that are hidden in plain sight.  Solonickne`s presentation features the kit homes still standing in Glen Ellyn and neighboring communities.
