SUMMARY:Independent Bookstore Day PARTY
DESCRIPTION:May 2\, 2015 is INDIE BOOKSTORE DAY!\n\n\n\nThe Bookstore\, at 475 N. Main St.\, in Glen Ellyn will celebrate Independent Bookstore Day all day long on Saturday\, May 2\, with FREE activities (including a scavenger hunt for adults and children)\, raffles\, food and other treats. \n\n\n\nWhat began last year as an event just for California independent bookstore owners has grown this year to include more than 400 bookstores across the country. It's a big indie party!\n\n\n\nIn Glen Ellyn\, children's author Sherri Duskey Rinker of "Goodnight\, Goodnight Construction Site" fame will host a special story time at 11 a.m. \n\n\n\nThere will also be CRAFT STATIONS for children. \n\n\n\nBook lovers will have the opportunity to buy one-of-a-kind art pieces and books\, available ONLY on May 2nd\, beginning at 9 am. Featuring Dav Pilkey\, Stephen King and more...\n\n\n\nFor more information\, call 630-469-2891 or click on our website link!\n\n\n\n\n\nIndependent bookstores are not just stores\, they're community centers and local anchors run by passionate readers. They are entire universes of ideas that contain the possibility of real serendipity. They are lively performance spaces and quiet places where aimless perusal is a day well spent.\n\n \n\nIndie bookstores\, are not just stores\, they are solutions. They hold the key to your love life\, your career\, and your passions. Walking the aisles of a good bookstore means stumbling upon a novel that expands your heart. It's encountering an art book that changes the direction of your life. It's the joy of having a perfect stranger or new friend steer you toward the perfect book.\n\n \n\nIn a world of tweets and algorithms and pageless digital downloads\, bookstores are not a dying anachronism. They are living\, breathing organisms that continue to grow and expand. And they are at your service.\n\n\n\nStop by "The Bookstore" on May 2nd and celebrate Indie Bookstore Day at 475 N. Main Street in Downtown Glen Ellyn! \n\n\n\n(North of the Railroad Tracks\, between Crescent and Pennsylvania. Look for the BIG RED awning)
