DESCRIPTION:THE GLEN ELLYN PUBLIC LIBRARY HOLDING A RENOVATION CELEBRATION SATURDAY\, JANUARY 30\, 2016 \n\nGlen Ellyn\, IL  The Glen Ellyn Public Library is holding a Renovation Celebration on Saturday\, January 30 from 10:00 am   3:00 pm to celebrate the reopening of the newly remodeled Youth Department. \n\n"We at the library are ecstatic to be able to once again welcome the public back to the Youth Department\," said Renee Grassi\, Youth Department Director. "This Renovation Celebration is the perfect event for families to check out everything the new space has to offer\, while also enjoying fun-filled activities and programs everyone will enjoy." \n\n\n\nThe celebration will kick off with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:00 am in the library's lobby.\n\n\n\nFamilies are invited to tour the freshly renovated space with fun-filled activities planned throughout the day\, including Sphero demonstrations in The Middle\, the new room dedicated just to middle school students\, 3D printer demonstrations\, and STEAM activities.\n\nFamilies are welcome to join Family Storytime at 11:00 am in the Youth Program Room. \n\n\n\nAt 2:00 pm in the library's meeting room\, the Big Balloon Show by Smarty Pants will close out the day of festivities. This one-of-a-kind\, theatrical style balloon show features the world's largest balloon props\, magic and slapstick comedy in a laugh-out-loud production. There are still a few seats left\, so reserve a spot for the Big Balloon Show by calling 630-790-6620. \n\n\n\nSince reopening in December\, the library has received positive feedback and comments about the space from Glen Ellyn families. "Probably the most common reaction is that the space feels much larger\, but actually it's the same footprint as before\," said Grassi. \n\n"We at the library continue to be grateful for the support we receive from the Glen Ellyn community\, and for everyone's understanding and patience through the 4 months of construction\," continued Grassi. "This new Youth Department has something for everyone\, so stop by and check it out!"\n\n\n\nGlen Ellyn Chamber Members and the Community are invited to participate in the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 10am\, the registration button above is ONLY for the Ribbon Cutting portion of the day's festivities!
