SUMMARY:ONECHURCH Sponsors Shopping Cart Brigade to Aid Food Pantry
DESCRIPTION:Volunteers from Grace\, St. Mark`s Episcopal\, St. Luke`s Lutheran\, Faith Lutheran\, and St. Barnabas Episcopal Churches have organized themselves into the ONECHURCH Precision Shopping Cart Brigade and are marching\, performing and collecting non -perishable grocery donations along the Glen Ellyn 4th of July Parade Route!\n\n\n\nDuring the parade in 2014\, the ONECHURCH marching grocery cart unit collected over 120 bags of canned food\, dry goods and toiletries.\n\n\n\nThis year\, 2015\, the goal is 150 bags to be donated to the Food Pantry.\n\n\n\nVolunteers can be people of all ages and abilities.\n\n\n\nVolunteer marchers are to meet at Grace Lutheran Church at 10:00 AM to decorate the carts\, practice maneuvers\, and have some fun before heading to the staging area for the parade which begins at 12:00 noon.\n\n\n\nSupport truck drivers are needed for the parade.\n\n\n\nThe Pantry distributes food and household items to 5\,000 families each year!\n\nThey are supported by private donations\, contributions from 16 churches\, and the work of over 200 volunteers.\n\n\n\nThe Glen Ellyn Food Pantry is located at Grace Lutheran Church\, 493 Forest Avenue in downtown Glen Ellyn.\n\n\n\nParade goers can bring bags filled with their donations to the parade and place them in the grocery carts as they march past.
