Anima’s Summer Music Academy is designed to excite students (entering grades 5th-9th) of all skill levels with enriching vocal music and acting experiences. They can use these skills in their schools, communities, and everyday lives. Vocal techniques, musicianship skills, acting techniques, and opera/musical theater repertoire will be focused on during this one-week Academy.
The Academy will be taught by Anima Artistic Director, Emily Ellsworth, and Glenbard West High School English and Theater teacher, Michael Moran. Classes will be held daily from 9:00am-4:00pm, June 17-21, 2013, at St. Petronille Church in Glen Ellyn. The week will culminate with a free performance for friends and family of opera and musical theater scenes learned throughout the week.
