Saturday, March 11 at 2:00 PM, the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main Street invites local author and historian, Dan Anderson, to relate the story of Emily Rieck, or as she is also known as “Madam Rieck. Anderson asks the question, “Is Emily Rieck a skeleton in Glen Ellyn's closet?” After her brothel was closed in Chicago at the end of the 19th century, she reestablished her business in Glen Ellyn and her wealthy Chicago patrons followed. They discovered the village's charms and some even moved their families to this peaceful little village of the west. Tickets for this event are $5 for adults. Call 630-469-1867 for information. Tickets available at the Door.
