Saturday, October 15, beginning at 11:00 AM and continuing until 1:00 PM, the Salt Creek Civil War Roundtable Book Sale Fundraiser is held at the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main Street, Glen Ellyn. This is an annual event and the purpose is to raise funds for battlefield preservation. There will be over a thousand books for sale at great prices on a variety of Civil War topics and other subjects. After the book sale, a Civil War speaker, Robert Girardi presents a lecture about John Eugene Smith: Galena's Forgotten General. The public is welcome to attend both event. Free – no charge.
