The Glen Ellyn Historical Society is hosting its third annual Gingerbread House Contest. Last year's Grand Champion was the Glen Ellyn Police Department! Categories are available for youth, teens, adults, and groups. Categories for Awards include: Best Group Entry, Best individual Entry by Age Group, Best Depiction of Glen Ellyn Building or Event, Best Depiction of Historical Building or Event, Best House for Dogs (or Other Companion Animals), Best House for Birds (or Wild Animals). This year, admission is FREE, however entries must be pre-registered by Thursday, November 29 at 5:00 p.m. Complete rules and entry forms are available at the History Center, attached in the comments section, or via email to Executive Director, Karen Hall (director@gehs.org). Return the completed entry form either by mail, in person, or email no later than Thursday, November 29 at close. Gingerbread Houses are to be dropped off at the History Center on Friday, November 30 from 10:00-5:00 or on Saturday, December 1 from 10:00-2:00. Contest Entries will be open to the public for viewing from 4:00-7:00 on Saturday, December 1 at Gingerbread and Candlelight: A Holiday Celebration event held at the History Center.
