What we know, what we have learned, and what can DuPage County Health Department do to support businesses and the community now and in the future
Karen Ayala and Christopher Hoff will provide an overview of the current COVID-19 situation in DuPage County and identify opportunities for businesses and public health to support health in their community.
Karen Ayala, Executive Director of the DuPage County Health Department
Karen has worked in direct service, mid-level supervision and senior level leadership positions throughout her public health experiences. In addition, the remainder of her work experience has been in community mental health/ substance abuse prevention, intervention, and treatment systems. Under her leadership, the DuPage County Health Department was recently rated number 1 out of the 102 counties in Illinois by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation County Health Rankings for both Health Outcomes and Health Factors.
Christopher Hoff, Director of Community Health Resources at DuPage County Health Department
Chris leads the DuPage County Health Department’s teams focused on community initiatives, population health, legislative coordination, public health emergency response, and environmental health. Over the past two years Chris has served at the Deputy Incident Manager for the health department’s COVID-19 response. Chris has worked extensively on public health issues at the local, state, and national level for 15 years. Chris has a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science from Marquette University and a master’s in public health from Northern Illinois University.
