Description
HIGH VOLTAGE!
Electricity had been in DuPage and Kane Counties since just before the Civil War with the advent of the transcontinental telegraph line. We will trace developments from there, including early electrification of homes and businesses, the story behind the Chicago, Aurora and Elgin electric railroad, and Chicago's role in creating the national grid we know today.
