Pack The Gym

Description

On Sunday, February 9th, St James the Apostle school will host an event called "Pack the Gym". The event is designed to strengthen school spirit with a contest and prizes for the top 3 students in the Spirit Wear category. There will also be 3 winners from the First grade for participation in a Super Fan sign contest.

Pack the gym is a special event to honor 8th grade athletes who are competing in winter sports. There will be both Girls and Boys Basketball presentations followed by games for both.

We are also honoring 2 outstanding athletes- Janie Nabholz and Kailee Sowers for their achievements by raising banners that will be placed in the gym.
These outstanding athletes have been very successful in their individual pursuits.

Janie, Class of 2013 was inducted to the SPL (Suburban Parochial League) Hall of Fame in 2012. Janie was the 8th Grade Winner of the Cross Country Championship Meet. Janie is currently a freshman at Glenbard West and is on the Girls Varsity Cross Country Team. She is ranked their 5th best runner. Additionally, the Glenbard West Girls Varsity Cross Country Team won the state title this year...due in large part to Janie’s talent

Kailee, Class of 2014 was inducted to the SPL Hall of Fame in 2013 for exceptional performance.  Kailee came in 2nd at the Championship meet. During her 4 years as a cross country runner, Kailee ran in 20 races. She earned 16 first place finishes overall and 4 second place finishes! She has never missed a meet. She is a very dedicated athlete.

At St. James the Apostle school, students in 5th through 8th grade are offered the opportunity to participate in sports year round including Cross Country, Volleyball, Basketball and Track & Field. No student at St. James is ever cut from a team.

We have openings in all grades for the 2014-2015 school year and registrations for the school year and the fall sports season are being accepted.
