Description
“Remembering Adade, Historian of Women” is the book featured by the Glen Ellyn Historical Society on Saturday, April 28, at 1:30 to 3:00 PM. in the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main Street. Author of this book, Lynda Hoornbeek has written the story of Adade Wheeler, a College of DuPage professor and one of Illinois's most highly respected feminists and women's rights advocates. Because information about Adade was scarce, Hoornbeek spent years searching out and perusing primary source documents to reveal the courage and commitment of this remarkable woman. Hoornbeek will speak about Adade at 2:00 PM. Books are available for purchase now at Stacy's Corners Store at the History Center or on the day of the event. Call 630-469-1867 for information or check website at www.glenellynhistory.org. Free event.
