Through a unique leasing program 8 historic properties owned by the National Park Service, but for which the Park had neither funds nor a proposed use, are being leased to private individuals. The properties are restored by private parties in exchange for the lease. This program will generate 9 million dollars of private investment! The homes represent 100 years of architectural evolution from a log structure now re-purposed as a preschool, to the 1933 Century of Progress houses and a Lustron home.
Special guest, Todd Zeiger, will share the experiences of the lessees, the National Park Service, Indiana Landmarks and interviews with the parties undertaking the restorations. Mr. Zeiger is the Executive Director of the Northern Regional Office of Indiana Landmarks located in South Bend, Indiana.
