Description
R. Harold Zook’s Unique Architecture
Betty Green,a self taught expert on Zook architecture, tells us R. Harold Zook’s architecture has been
described as “demonstrating whimsy, spirituality and romanticism with an attention to detail…”. Zook’s work has been recognized as historically significant with many of his structures built in nearby Hinsdale and three homes just a quarter of a mile from the GEHS History Center on the border of Glen Ellyn and Lombard.
Betty will share her passion for the man who was ahead of the conservation movement as demonstrated by his reuse of stone and paneling in 1932. Her enthusiasm is infectious and spreads throughout her audience as she shows just what makes the Zook look so intriguing.
