DuPagePads 15th Annual Drive for 155 is Racing Toward an End to Homelessness
DuPage, IL – The Race to End Homelessness! DuPagePads fifteenth annual three-hour karting enduro is your opportunity to gather your race team in support of an incredible cause! This year’s race to end homelessness includes up to 15 teams of 4 or more drivers racing for the most-completed laps on Saturday, June 14th from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Autobahn Country Club’s outdoor speed karting track in Joliet, IL.
Over the past 15 years this highly anticipated kart racing fundraiser has provided more than $1.5 million to help end homelessness and fund life-saving housing programs with support services for homeless families and neighbors in shelter at DuPagePads. This year’s fundraising race will bring more food, shelter, and solutions to over 300 men, women, and children at their Interim Housing Center, established in 2022. Each team will compete for fundraising and race day success helping more than 100 children and 200 adults on their successful journey to reach stable housing.
Bob Carey, along with First Trust Portfolios employees, has participated in the Drive for 155 since its debut. He shares, “One of the most anticipated events on my calendar and for so many of my First Trust colleagues is the annual Drive for 155 benefiting DuPagePads. We believe strongly in the mission to end homelessness in our community, and the event offers us an opportunity to support this mission and have fun at the same time! So many great memories have been made over the years going all the way back to the original Drive for 25 fifteen years ago. We look forward to another record-setting year!”
There are only a few team spots remaining to race on June 14th among the 15 teams that compete both on the track and on the fundraising scale all working together to reach the overall goal of raising $155,000 in needed support to move more neighbors from homeless and alone to a place they can call home. Each team is asked to friend-raise a minimum of $5,000 per team helping to achieve the $155,000 goal. Racing advantages and awards are given to the top fundraising teams and top racing teams by division.
"I am thrilled to invite the community to the 15th Annual Drive for 155. We are looking for spirited teams to compete in a thrilling three-hour go-karting experience,” shares Tami Weir, event co-chair and DuPagePads board member. “This event promises not only an adrenaline-packed day on the track but also the opportunity to make a real difference. Every dollar raised goes towards life-saving programs, and we can't wait to share this exhilarating day with you all in support of the DuPagePads mission."
Teams who register now through May 27th will be provided with Drive for 155 race shirts sporting their team names! For more information and to register a team, please contact Carrie Flick, Special Events Manager at 630.480.4186 or CFlick@dupagepads.org or visit the event FAQ page.
