The League of Women Voters of Glen Ellyn invites the community to a lively evening exploring the concept of Ranked Choice Voting (RCV)—a reform that is gaining traction across the country for making elections more representative and voter-friendly.

The event will feature Rebecca Williams, Executive Director of Fair Vote Illinois, who will explain how Ranked Choice Voting works and why it matters for Illinois voters. To make the concept fun and interactive, attendees will “vote” for their favorite cheeses from around the world in a ranked-choice style tasting.

Date & Time: Thursday, October 16, 7:00–8:30 p.m.
Location: First Congregational Church of Glen Ellyn
535 Forest Ave, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137

Cost: $25 per ticket includes samples of five cheeses, wine or soft drinks, and additional refreshments.

All community members are invited to attend, but space is limited; advance registration is required. Reserve your spot at lwvge.org. Payment accepted via Zelle or check.

“This event is a perfect mix of learning and fun,” said Heather Fleming, Co-President of the League of Women Voters of Glen Ellyn. “Ranked Choice Voting empowers voters to express their full preferences, and what better way to see it in action than through something as universally loved as cheese?”

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization dedicated to empowering voters and defending democracy. Events like this demonstrate the League’s commitment to civic education while creating opportunities for the community to engage with new ideas in an enjoyable way.
